Nature Walks

SBPC also leads monthly nature walks and a Junior Urban Naturalist Program (JUNP) at Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach. The JUNP Nature walks (from 10-11) are guided and include reading and writing in the JUNP booklet. The Nature Walks open to all ages (11:15-12) are guided nature walks on the same topic as the JUNP. Trained volunteers lead children and adults through a 1-hr sensory learning experience. These experiences focus on different topics every month based on relevant seasonal occurrences. Topics may include Birds, Pollinators, Plant Reproduction, Color exploration, and more! All walks are free and open to the public.  Donations are always welcomed. Space is limited , so please sign up at the link below.

In addition to these monthly walks, SBPC also hosts El Segundo Blue butterfly walks in the summer for a limited time.

Student Ambassadors

Participants of all ages learn valuable skills in conservation while making a difference in their own communities and earning community service hours.
